To join the community in
Celebration of American Holiday
July 4, 2008
Miller Outdoor Theater & Lindale Park Community
METRO joined hundreds of Houstonians to celebrate our nation’s 232 birthday with exciting events commemorating the 4th of July. The Lindale Park Civic Club’s annual 4th of July parade was quite colorful as floats, marching bands and neighbors marched down Irvington Avenue showcasing local talent and civic pride. METRO proudly featured its red, white and blue colors by way of a state-of-the-art METRO Hybrid Bus – part of METRO’s environmentally friendly fleet of buses. These new vehicles reflect METRO’s environmentally conscience approach towards providing transit and mobility solutions for the Houston region.
On another side of town, METRO was a featured sponsor for the Miller Outdoor Theatre’s 4th of July celebration. This Independence Day celebration featured the always dazzling Houston Symphony with a musical salute to our nation’s birthday. METRO staff and volunteers were on hand to share information about travel options in the Houston area with METRORail stops at Hermann Memorial Hospital / Houston Zoo, Hermann Park, and Dryden / TMC and multiple bus routes that service that region – METRO is truly going places. |
