Project Description & Mission
METRO is hosting a series of public workshops to discuss the future of transit in our region as we develop our long range plan (METROVision). We’re working with communities throughout our service area to learn where service is needed and how we can modify or add to existing service to better serve the needs of the community.

We’ll be exploring options for transit services including:
  • Streetcars
  • Commuter rail
  • Light rail
  • Improved bus service
  • Bus rapid transit
  • HOV / HOT lanes

Draw Your Own Route
If you’ve always wondered why a route stopped blocks from your library, school, or favorite store, here’s your chance to design a route to get you there. Follow the simple directions to share your ideas to create a customized route that meets your needs. It doesn’t even have to follow existing routes. Imagine it, drag the mouse and presto! A map with your personalized route appears. Submit your ideas as a part of the process to update METRO’s Long Range Plan.

METRO Vision NewsletterMETRO would like to thank everyone who participated in one or more of the Public Workshops conducted throughout the region. We sincerely appreciated you taking time out of your busy schedule to help us develop a transit plan that will benefit the Houston Region in the future.

If you have additional comments, ideas, or if you did not get a chance to attend one of our workshops, there is still time to participate. Please view the Long Range Plan presentation and submit your comments by using our interactive map on the website. We will be developing the draft Long Range Plan by incorporating the comments and ideas that we received from you. METRO will keep you informed through each phase of this process and will come back to you with your draft plan at a future public meeting.
