RAIL WORK CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND / PARADES & IMPLOSION WILL INTERRUPT
METRO SERVICE / METRO MLK, JR. HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

METRO will continue its scheduled rail and track maintenance work this weekend.
Saturday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Jan. 20 between 5:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., there will
be no rail service between the UH
Downtown and Wheeler Stations.
METRO will operate dedicated “Rail Shuttle” buses every 12 minutes with stops at the affected rail stations.
Regular rail service will operate between the Wheeler and Fannin South Stations on a 12-minute frequency. Normal service will resume each day by 2 p.m.
Other events that will affect METRO service this weekend are several parades and a hotel implosion that will take place in downtown Houston and along Allen Parkway:
Saturday, Jan 19:
Black Heritage Society Children’s Parade
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Starting at Capitol and Jackson
MLK Day Youth Parade
2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Starting at Allen Parkway and Taft
Sunday, Jan. 20:
Montague Hotel implosion
6 a.m. – 1 p.m. Corner of Fannin and Rusk
Moharram Parade
2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Starting at Milam and Preston
Monday, Jan. 21:
Black Heritage Society Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Starting at Capitol and Jackson
Martin Luther King, Jr. Grande Parade
2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Starting at Taft on Allen Parkway
METRO Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Schedule
METRO will run regular weekday METRORail, local and commuter bus service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 21, 2008.
All High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
METRO’s Customer Information Center, RideStores and Lost & Found will be open during regular business hours.
METROLift will run its regular subscription trips on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 21. However, METROLift reservations and customer service offices will be closed. To schedule a trip for Monday, Jan. 21, or Tuesday, Jan. 22, call the reservation line at 713-225-6716 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.
