METRO JUNE 2008 SERVICE CHANGES

To provide more efficient service for our customers, METRO is implementing a number of route and schedule modifications as of Sunday, June 1, 2008.

  • 2 Bellaire is relocating layover location from Tres Lagunas to the Mission Bend Park & Ride lot.  On Saturdays, a 4:34 a.m. eastbound trip from the Mission Bend Park & Ride Lot has been added to eliminate passenger overloads.
  • 4 Beechnut has adjusted running times to accommodate the extension to Dairy Ashford.
  • 8 South Main will discontinue duplicate service west of the West Bellfort Park & Ride.  Route will only operate one loop on westbound trips.
  • 9 Gulfton will adjust the 5:49 a.m. northbound trip to leave six minutes earlier in order to meet the 102 Bush IAH 6:44 a.m. northbound trip on weekdays.
  • 19 Wilcrest is relocating layover location to the West Bellfort Park & Ride Lot and adjusting trip times for more reliable service weekdays and Saturdays.
  • 24 Northline is adjusting weekday peak frequencies from 15 to 18 minutes and adjusting Saturday’s frequency from 20 to 25 minutes, to match ridership demand.
  • 33 Post Oak is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 38 Manchester is reinstating stops along Harrisburg and Broadway between Magnolia Transit Center and Manchester on weekdays.
  • 45 Tidwell is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 49 Chimney Rock is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 53 Briar Forest is adjusting its span of service on Sunday by adding a 5:06 a.m. eastbound trip from Westside High School to downtown due to ridership demands. 
  • 56 Airline is extending service to Greens Parkway, Greensmark and Crown Park to serve several apartment complexes, two schools, a post office, and a senior citizens apartment complex; and removing service from portions of Greens Parkway and Greens Crossing.
  • 64 Lincoln City Circulator removed service from Gulf Bank, Arncliffe, Streamside, and Antoine due to the closure of the bridge on Arncliffe by the Harris County Flood Control District.  The route was extended north on Montgomery via Stallings/ McCrarey (effective 3/24/08).
  • 72 Westview is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 77 Martin Luther King is moving weekday southbound trip to South Acres, Selinsky, and Martindale to match service to customer demands.
  • 78 Alabama/ Irvington is adjust running times for a more reliable service.
  • 79 West Little York is adjusting weekday running times for a more reliable service.
  • 82 Westheimer is adding a 1:10 p.m. and a 2:30 p.m. westbound trip between Gessner & West Oaks Mall on weekdays.  On Sunday, is adding a 5:25 a.m. eastbound trip to match ridership demands. 
  • 102 IAH weekday service is adding a 12:05 p.m. northbound trip and extending the 6:00 a.m. southbound trip from Greenspoint to downtown, to eliminate passenger overloads.  On weekends it is adjusting frequencies from 50 to 40 minutes and adjusting trip times to match ridership demands. 
  • 132 Harwin is relocating layover location to the Mission Bend Park & Ride lot on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • 202 Kuykendahl Park & Ride is discontinuing the 8 a.m. inbound trip, and the outbound trip at 7:05 a.m.  Discontinue the 5:15 p.m. outbound trip to match service with ridership demand. 
  • 204 Spring Park & Ride is discontinuing the 5:08 p.m. outbound trip, adding one inbound trip at 5:53 a.m. and adjusting trip times to eliminate passenger overloads.
  • 209 I 45 Park & Ride Midday Service is adding a 2:50 p.m. outbound trip to eliminate passenger overloads (effective 3/4/08).
  • 214 Northwest Station Park & Ride is discontinuing the 5:13 and 5:17 p.m. outbound trips and adjusting trip times to match ridership demand.
  • 217 Cypress Park & Ride is adding a 4:25 p.m. outbound trip and adjusting frequency from 12 to 10 minutes to eliminate passenger overloads.
  • 222 Grand Parkway is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 247 Fuqua Park & Ride is adjusting its AM peak frequency from 6 to 7 minutes, and PM peak frequency from 5 to 7 minutes to match ridership demand.
  • 255 Kingwood Park & Ride is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 256 Eastwood Park & Ride is adjusting running times for a more reliable service.
  • 257 Townsen Park & Ride is adjusting running times for more reliable service.
  • 262 Westwood Park & Ride is extending selected PM outbound trips to the West Bellfort Park & Ride lot to eliminate passenger overloads (effective 3/4/08).
  • 265 West Bellfort Park & Ride is adding inbound trips at 7:36 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. and adjusting trip times between 7:24 a.m. and 8:24 a.m. to match demand.
  • 298 Kingsland/ Addicks/TMC Park & Ride is adding an inbound trip at 6:16 a.m. and an outbound trip at 4:00 p.m. to reduce passenger overloads.  It’s also extending the 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. trips to serve the Kingsland Park & Ride lot (effective 4/9/08).
  • 700 Metro Rail is adjusting running times for more reliable service.
