METRO Seeks Help In Capturing Suspect Wanted In Kingwood Park & Ride Thefts

February 20, 2009

METRO is releasing images of an individual suspected of burglarizing eight vehicles Thursday in the Kingwood Park & Ride lot and is asking the public for help identifying this person.

These images were captured by METRO security cameras at the lot.

The burglaries were committed between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, with some of the items stolen found outside the Park & Ride lot Thursday night.

Thanks to its system of cameras and remote access gates, METRO has reduced the number of Park & Ride crimes on its lots by 57.5 percent since 2005. Prior to yesterday’s break-ins, there have been four Burglary of Motor Vehicles (BMV) at the Kingwood Park & Ride since 2007.

Still, METRO police remind Park & Ride customers that it is safer to take valuables, such as cell phones, IPODS and purses, from their vehicles before boarding buses. If this isn’t possible, they urge customers to store valuables out of sight.

Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to call METRO police at 713-224-2677.
